Three Truths

If there are three truths I have learned from having a pregnant wife, they are these:

1. You will see more vomit in 12 weeks than you have seen in the last 12 years.

2. You will spend more time in the kitchen than you have in the last... ever.

3. You will be happier than you've ever felt in your entire life. Especially on a day like today.

Because this is what we did today...

I have never had a more powerful, emotional experience as I did the moment that picture appeared on the screen. At first there was just a black space, and then a grainy, twitchy amazing little blob with a face. That's our baby. Look how he's got his arms behind his head! Must be pretty relaxing in there!

I won't go on about how it felt, nobody wants to see me get all gushy, but... wow. I felt like I was hyperventilating, but I was breathing normally. I think I went into shock - it was indescribable.

I saw my baby today.
